MY BIO

As a goldsmith and gemologist, I've investigated the source of the materials I've used. Learning how to retrieve them in their natural form. On a gold panning tour I will teach the basics of prospecting, the history and geology relating to the activity. 

We are programmed to seek the rarities, and when we find them, it is exhilarating.

Historically it's not always romantic story, in fact, these materials have built and destroyed societies and empires, and continue to. Wars have been waged, lands taken, people exploited. Perhaps best left alone? But who am I to fly in face of progress? Should you join me, we will find some wonderful natural elements and gems. We will also have to sieve through some quite tragic pollution.

As we exercise our body and focus our mind, we will also do a bit of cleaning, clearing our mind, and our rivers and put a little adventure and discovery back in our hearts and mind. 

All our rivers are jam-packed with heavy metals, some arrive naturally, the vast majority are man-made or pollutants. The reality is, we will find up to a kilo of metal in a few hours, and micro-grams of gold and silver, semi-precious gems, coins and other items of interest. Meanwhile, we will also remove potentially toxic metals from our drinking and recreation source, and take them to, hopefully, places they are reused. If I can have an exciting past time, that is full of adventure and the unknown, while sharing the experience and helping the planet or a small portion of it, then I'm in!
